Select Breeders Southwest, Inc. will host the Texas Breeders Forum on January 22 - 23, 2010. This seminar is the premier equine breeding conference in North Texas. The latest in breeding techniques, developing technologies and research will be presented by members of the Select Breeders Southwest, Inc. staff and guest lecturers. All participants will have an opportunity to visit with our many sponsors as well.
The lab session will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010 at Select Breeders Southwest, Inc. in Aubrey, TX. We will offer several workshops defined by the differing skill levels of our participants. Each participant will be able to choose four workshops.
This year's conference headquarters is the Buffalo Valley Event Center in Denton, TX. This facility boasts the 13,500 sq. ft Grand Buffalo Ballroom, 19 hotel rooms, as well as RV sites. The back drop for this wonderful facility is 100 acres of natural prairies and lakes graced with seasonal wildflowers, Grand Bois D'Arc trees and roaming Buffalo.
 A buffet dinner catered by the chefs of the Buffalo Valley Event Center will be offered to the attendees of the lab session on Friday and those registered for the lecture session on Saturday. It will be an excellent opportunity to speak with our guest lecturers and visit the sponsors of the Texas Breeders Forum.
The lecture session will take place on Saturday, January 23, 2010. We are pleased to announce our guest lecturers will include Dr. Peter Timoney (Gluck Equine Research Center at the University of Kentucky), Dr. Sue McDonnell (University of Pennsylvania), Dr. Ed Squires (University of Kentucky), Dr. Karen Wolfsdorf (Hagyard Equine Medical Institute), and Paul Loomis, MS (Select Breeders Service, Inc.).
Continuing education credits will be offered to veterinarians and veterinary technicians. At the end of the lecture session a door prize drawing will be held for items generously donated by our sponsors. The weekend will close with an appetizer reception on Saturday evening.
